Man arrested after over 30 grams of meth found during traffic stop

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Morgantown man is facing several drug charges in Bowling Green.
According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department observed a vehicle traveling Saturday morning at Rochester Street and Madison Street.
Authorities say the driver did not have a seat belt on.
During a traffic stop, authorities say they learned 32-year-old Benjamin Embry of Morgantown, who gave a false name, had 11 warrants for his arrest.
Police say they learned a bag had been thrown into the back of the vehicle. Upon a vehicle search, authorities say they located 31.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 30 grams of marijuana and 60 grams of suspected Xanax.
Embry was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green for clearance before being taken to the Warren County Regional Jail.
He is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, second or greater offense (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine), trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces), first offense, third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (drug unspecified), giving an officer false identifying information, prescription controlled substance not in proper container, first offense, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess and failure to wear seat belts.
