PADUCAH, Ky. – A Paducah man was arrested after authorities say he fled from Kentucky State Police troopers earlier this week.

On the morning of Wednesday, May 1, troopers say they observed a red Chevrolet Corvette traveling 105 miles per hour on Interstate 69 near Draffenville, Kentucky.

Troopers say they attempted to stop the vehicle, which continued to flee along I-69 and I-24 in McCracken County. The driver then entered Husbands Road in Paducah, Kentucky, troopers say.

The pursuit stopped briefly for traffic conditions before authorities saw the Corvette traveling into the yards of multiple residences.

After reaching a dead end road, authorities say the vehicle stopped in a wooded area of Custis Road.

The driver and passenger were detained without incident.

The passenger was released without charges.

The driver, identified as 29-year-old Otis McKinney, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including reckless driving, wanton endangerment, fleeing and evading police and criminal mischief.

McKinney was transported to the McCracken County Jail.

Kentucky State Police were assisted by Paducah police, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, as well as members of the public.
