Man arrested after alleged strangulation of adult and juvenile

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One man is behind bars after an alleged assault in Bowling Green.

According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department responded Wednesday around 12:27 p.m. to a residence in Bowling Green.

Police say upon arrival, they spoke to an adult victim, who stated a male subject had assaulted her and a juvenile victim.

Officers say the male subject was identified as 32-year-old Glennis Ligon of Berea. Authorities say they observed Ligon sitting outside with a stab wound to his shoulder.

The victim further stated an argument had ensued, which escalated and made her fear for her life, authorities say. The citation states multiple children were present, and the juvenile victim was asked to escort them outside to their mother’s vehicle.

Officers say the victim stated the altercation turned physical, with the victim’s glasses being knocked off and the victim being held in a chokehold.

During this time, police say the adult victim stated the juvenile victim walked upstairs and was choked by Ligon.

Police say the adult victim further stated the juvenile then took out a kitchen knife from his pocket and stabbed Ligon in the shoulder.

Ligon was transported to TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital for medical clearance before being lodged at the Warren County Regional Jail.

Ligon is charged with first-degree strangulation (domestic violence related), fourth-degree assault (child abuse), fourth-degree assault (domestic violence, no visible injury) and resisting arrest.
