Man allegedly hits KYTC vehicle in work zone, charged with DUI
CANEYVILLE, LEITCHFIELD, Ky. – One man is facing charges after hitting a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet vehicle within a work zone.
According to WNKY News 40 media partner K105, the driver, identified as 60-year-old Danny Scott Cleaver of Crestwood, fled the scene Tuesday on the Western Kentucky Parkway between Leitchfield and Caneyville.

The incident occurred around the 101-mile marker on the eastbound parkway, according to KYTC District 4 spokesman Chris Jessie.
“A crew had finished doing some work related to a slide and was picking up traffic control (cones). The equipment truck was hit on the side, mostly impacting the mirror,” Jessie said.
After hitting the vehicle, Cleaver was later stopped in Hardin County.
K105 reports the Kentucky State Police arrested Cleaver. He faces charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle prohibited, leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid and failure to yield in a road work zone.
No one was injured during the incident.
Cleaver was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center but has since been released.
