Man allegedly damages state police cruiser during arrest in Hart Co.

BONNIEVILLE, Ky. – A man is behind bars after police say he damaged a police cruiser while being arrested.

The Kentucky State Police says a trooper was in the 9000 block of North Dixie Highway before being called in by a woman.

Once they arrived, troopers say they saw a woman with a bloody, swollen finger and a man with a swollen left eye.

The man, later identified as 35-year-old Donald Selby, originally gave police a fake name intentionally, authorities say.

A fellow trooper then recognized Selby and discovered he had four active Kentucky warrants.

While attempting to apprehend Selby, authorities say the man pushed and yelled at troopers, kicking the passenger side rear door and window once inside the cruiser, making a dent on the inside of the door, and broke the window.

Selby then was cuffed at his feet as well as his hands.

He is now being held in the Hart County Detention Center, where he faces multiple charges, including fourth-degree assault, domestic violence (minor injury), giving an officer false identifying information, first-degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, first-degree criminal mischief and third-degree terroristic threatening.
