Man accused of wielding ax at and stabbing another man
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is accused of stabbing another person and wielding an ax or a hatchet after two women got into a fight.
Alvin Puckett and his girlfriend were visiting Reuben Campbell and his girlfriend when the two women got into a fight.
Campbell tried to stop the fight and produced a small ax or hatchet, according to Campbell’s arrest citation.
Puckett feared for his girlfriend’s safety and attempted to take the hatchet away. During the struggle, Puckett was cut and according to Campbell’s citation, Campbell pulled out a small knife and is accused of stabbing Puckett causing a punctured lung.
Campbell gave a statement to police in the presence of his attorney, according to his arrest citation. He said he feared for his safety and that Puckett has threatened him just prior to the stabbing.
Campbell is charged with second-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment and was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
