Man accused of striking someone with car

Kentucky State Police charged Larry D. Gidcumb, of Bowling Green, with first-degree wanton endangerment after another man said Gidcumb struck him with a vehicle Tuesday.

Police met with Gidcumb at a business on Hadley Loop Road and he told them that Ty Riney fired three gunshots into his front windshield, according to Gidcumb’s arrest citation. Gidcumb told police that the two men had been in an argument prior to the shots being fired.

Riney said he went to the Hadley Loop Road business to tell Gidcumb not to trespass onto his property, according to the citation. At that point Gidcumb is accused of getting into his truck and aggressively driving at Riney striking his leg. Riney told police he fired three rounds from a handgun in self-defense.

The gravel in the parking lot and the position of the truck showed police evidence of a rapid take off, according to the citation.

Riney is not charged with any crime.

Gidcumb, 47,  was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail in lieu of a $6,000 cash bond. A hearing in the case is scheduled at 9 a.m. Friday in Warren District Court.
