Man accused of shooting father and grandfather

CUB RUN, Ky. – A Hart County man is accused of shooting his father and grandfather Friday night.

At about 5:50 p.m. Friday, Kentucky State Police Post 3 received a call of a shooting incident at 13442 Cub Run Highway in Hart County.

Alexander S. Gardner, 21, of Cub Run was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree assault domestic violence and lodged at the Hart County Detention Center, according to a release from KSP.

Gardner’s bind is set at $50,000, according to online jail records.

Alexander’s father, Jerry R. Gardner Jr. and grandfather Jerry R. Gardner Sr. were taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where they are being treated for gunshot wounds as a result of the incident, according to the release.

Both are listed in stable condition.

There were no other individuals reported to have been involved or injured during the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
