Man accused of raping 12-year-old
A Bowling Green man was arrested out of state and brought back to Kentucky Sunday to face multiple child sex crime charges.
A Warren County grand jury indicted Carlos Aguilar-Lopez, 35, in May on two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of first-degree sodomy and two counts of first-degree sexual abuse.
He is accused of engaging in violent sex acts with a 12-year-old child.
The case was brought to police attention after the child disclosed the allegations to a school guidance counselor, according to police records. Police responded to the school and spoke with the employee.
The child later disclosed details to a forensic interviewer at the Barren River Child Advocacy Center, according to police records.
Aguilar-Lopez is being held in the Warren County Regional Jail. His bond is set at $50,000.
A hearing in the case is scheduled Monday afternoon in Warren Circuit Court.
