Man accused of kidnapping Jayme Closs due in court Wednesday

BARRON, Wis. – The man accused of kidnapping 13-year-old Jayme Closs after also being accused of killing her parents will appear in a Barron court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.

Jake Patterson is accused of breaking into Closs’ parents home back in October, killing her parents and taking her to an isolated cabin in Douglas County, Wisconsin.

Closs was found by a neighbor after escaping from the cabin.

Patterson faces multiple charges including first-degree intentional homicide, kidnapping, and one count of armed burglary.

He’s being held on a $5 million bond.
