Man accused of impersonating a police officer

Bowling Green police arrest a man for impersonating a police officer—a Bowling Green police officer.

Last night, officers responded to Greenwood Mall on reports a man, later identified as Mark Renfro, 44, was trying to gain entry into Dillard’s after closing time.

They say Renfro then told them, it’s okay, he works Kentucky State Police and the Bowling Green Police Department too.

Officers say he resisted arrest and said he could not be arrested or patted down because he’s a police officer.

The arrest report states Renfro smelled of marijuana and marijuana was found in a box of cigarettes in his jacket.

He was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
