Man accused of home invasion robbery

FRANKLIN, Ky. – A Franklin man was charged Sunday in a home-invasion robbery Dec. 7.

Franklin police were called Dec. 7 to 512 North High Street in which Cedric R. Hill-Monger, 29, is accused of kicking in the door and assaulting someone in the living room, according to a release from the Franklin Police Department.

At the time, the intruder was wearing dark clothing a mask. Two other individuals joined in the fight to stop the masked intruder. During the assault, Hill-Monger is accused of pulling a handgun, pointing it at one person’s face and using it to strike another victim several times on the head.

Sunday, police arrested Hill-Monger in the robbery after a brief foot chase. A Franklin police officer was injured during the chase, according to the release.

Hill-Monger is charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, first-degree criminal mischief and first-degree fleeing or evading police on foot, according to the release. Hill-Monger is lodged in the Simpson County Detention Center.

Hill-Monger previously pleaded guilty to a bank robbery in 2014 in Franklin, according to the release. He was given a nine-year sentence and was released in April after serving five years.
