Man accused of hit and run, drug charge

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is accused of a hit and run car wreck and is facing multiple charges.

Solomon Mugisha, 32, is accused of hitting a parked car on Gayle Way just before 5 p.m. Sunday.

Multiple witnesses told police they saw Mugisha driving a maroon van and striking a pickup truck parked at 421 Gayle Way. He is accused of driving into a yard and crashing into a chain link fence before exiting the car and running away.

Bowling Green Police Department responded to the incident and arrested Mugisha shortly after 5 p.m.

Upon further investigation, officers found that Mugisha’s Tennessee driver’s license had been suspended for a prior DUI. They also said in his arrest citation they found a small bag of a powdery white substance in the van believed to be operated by Mugisha.

He faces seven charges following the incident, including possession of a methamphetamine second offense, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs/ alcohol, operating on a suspended or revoked operators license and leaving the scene of an accident.
