Man accused of attempted murder of his mother

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is accused of trying to run his mother down with his car in an attempt to kill her.

Matthew Ryan Harr, 33, is charged with attempted murder, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and fourth-degree assault domestic violence.

Warren County Sheriff’s deputies answered a call Monday evening at 241 Lamplighter Drive and upon arrival saw Harr standing over his mother Linda Harr, who was under the bushes next to the garage, according to Harr’s arrest citation.

Linda Harr told deputies her son had been drinking prior to assaulting her and then attempting to run over her with a car, according to his citation.

She told deputies she had to roll under a bush next to the garage to avoid being struck by the car her son was driving, according to the citation.

Linda Harr told deputies her son assaulted her and told her he was going to kill her, according to his citation.

Matthew Harr had been drinking prior to the incident and she didn’t want him in the home, according to the citation. She refused medical treatment but did have an injury to her arm and to the left side of her face under her eye.

He was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail where he did not have a bond as of 10:47 a.m. Tuesday.

A neighbor told deputies Matthew Harr beat his mother in the driveway and she was on the ground, according to his citation. The same neighbor also heard him threaten to kill his mother four times.

A deputy said Matthew Harr attempted to assault him during his arrest.
