Mammoth Cave National Park reopening little by little
MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky. – Mammoth Cave National Park will reopen its campgrounds on Thursday, the second phase of the park’s reopening plan. On June 1, the park reopened a section of the historic cave for self-guided tours.
The roughly two-mile long section of cave is wide enough to allow social distancing. Mammoth Cave National Park spokeswoman Molly Schroer says they are happy to find a way to welcome back visitors to the caves after using guidance from health officials.
The number of people allowed in each tour group is limited.
Park officials said reservations are available and are strongly recommended. You can make reservations for the park at Recreation.gov.
