Mammoth Cave issues temporarily ferry closures due to high water

MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky. – Mammoth Cave National Park says it will temporarily close multiple areas due to anticipated water levels in the Green River.

These include the following:

  • Friday, April 4:
    • Green River Ferry – vehicle ferry operation.
  • Saturday, April 5:
    • Dennison Ferry Day Use Area and Dennison Ferry Road.
    • Green River Ferry Road from the intersection with Mammoth Cave Parkway to the intersection of Maple Springs Campground.
    • Houchin Ferry Campground and Houchin Ferry Road.

Closures will remain until river levels recede, park staff can clean up flooded facilities and visitor operations can safely resume.
