Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade unveils new floats, including ‘Labubu,’ ‘Stranger Things’

(WNBC) – The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is just eight days away, and fans can look forward to some new floats this year.

Familiar characters and some new additions, like Labubu and “KpPop Demon Hunters,” are all part of the floats that will be part of this year’s parade.

Overall, seven new floats are getting ready for their Thanksgiving Day debut.

Will Coss, executive producer and vice president of Macy’s Studios, said Tuesday, “The mood of today is super exciting. It’s our opportunity to unveil all of our brand-new floats to the general public, to the national audience. We’ve been working the last 18 months to get to today. It’s a celebration.”

Every year, new floats are built and designed by a team of carpenters, engineers and designers at the Macy’s Parade Studio.

Brick by brick, keep an eye out for the new Winter Mountain by Lego. You can buy a much smaller version of your own to make at home.

And if that tires you out, count some sheep with Serta’s Dream Generator.

Feeling more adventurous? Maybe hit the high seas with the Land of Glaciers, Wildlife and Wonder by Holland America Line.

It’ll get a little scary with the puppeteering behind the monster at Netflix’s “Stranger Things” float.

However, a sweeter time will be had aboard Lindt’s Master Chocolatier Ballroom.

In addition, it will be all smiles and hugs with fuzzy 16-foot inflatable sculptures, the first of their kind to be built for a float in the parade, with Labubu and Mokoko.

Make sure to watch for the tiniest float in the parade too. It will stand at under 8 inches tall, featuring to-scale Goldfish crackers.

Big and small, the tradition is back on WNKY NBC 40 starting at 8:30 a.m.
