BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Louisville, Kentucky man is facing drug charges after being arrested in Bowling Green on Wednesday.

According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police conducted a traffic stop Wednesday morning and discovered that the driver had a suspended license.

Troopers say after discovering this, they requested to view the license of a passenger, 48-year-old Robert A. Wright, of Louisville, in case he could take over to drive. Authorities say they learned Wright had an active warrant out of Bullitt County.

Wright was then arrested.

According to the uniform citation, the driver agreed to a search of the vehicle. Troopers say they found a plastic case of a glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue on the passenger side, a bag of suspected methamphetamine between the center console and passenger side, marijuana and a grinder.

Troopers say after speaking with the driver, he claimed possession of the marijuana and grinder and stated he was not aware of the suspected methamphetamine or pipe. The driver was cited and released.

Wright was arrested on the warrant and charged due to the location of the methamphetamine and pipe in the vehicle.

Wright is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance substance, first offense (methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess. He remains at the Warren County Detention Center.
