Louisiana police officer recovering after crash caught on camera

A Louisiana motorcycle officer is recovering from a harrowing crash, which was captured by his body camera.

Alexandria police corporal Josh Daigre was driving on a busy roadway last month when a minivan crossed in front of his motorcycle causing a crash.

Daigre was banged up, but not seriously injured.

The driver of the minivan was cited for failure to yield after a stop. 

Since the accident Corporal Daigre has watched the video a few times and he hopes others will get the message he tries to get across every day, distracted driving is dangerous.

Daigre says still has some healing to do before he hops back on his bike but he does plan to stay on motorcycle patrol. 
 
And he knows things could have been much worse.
