Long-term closure set for U.S. 68 and KY 103 intersection in Auburn

AUBURN, Ky. – A long-term closure is expected to impact traffic in a section of Auburn.

Transportation officials say a project to improve the intersection of KY 103 Wilson Avenue and U.S. 68X Main Street will create a long-term closure on KY 103 Wilson Avenue.

This will close KY 103 Wilson Avenue at U.S. 68X beginning Monday, July 28 at 6 a.m. for around 30 days, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3. U.S. 68X Main Street will remain open from the other three approaches.

However, officials say it will not be accessible to or from KY 103 Wilson Avenue.

KY 103 College Street will remain open during this time. The only road that will be closed beginning Monday is KY 103 at U.S. 68X.

Large vehicles, including trucks, should not approach the area or other internal side streets due to lack of space, officials say. The recommended detour is KY 73, U.S. 68 and KY 100.

The project will realign and widen the intersection, along with making improvements to drainage, curbs, gutters and sidewalks.

The entire project is expected to be complete by November.
