London man charged with assault following shooting incident

LONDON, Ky. – A London man is charged with assault following a shooting stemming from a road rage incident.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for shots fired on Saturday afternoon. The shooting was reported off East Laurel Road, KY 80.

According to deputies, the alleged shooting was a result of a road rage incident.

The sheriff’s office says Joseph C. Brewer, 21 of London, was involved in a road rage incident with another motor vehicle operator.

Deputies say that Jayden Jackson, 21 of London, pulled up to the incident involving Brewer and another vehicle.

The preliminary investigation shows that Jackson exited his vehicle and was shot by Brewer. Jackson sustained two gunshot wounds to the torso. A bystander transported Jackson and Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to St. Joseph Hospital London.

Jackson is receiving treatment at UK HealthCare.

Brewer is charged with assault, 1st degree, and was lodged at the Laurel County Detention Center.
