Logan County Schools celebrates first day of school
LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – Wednesday marks the first day of school for many schools across south-central Kentucky, and that includes Logan County Schools.
However, it is a very special first day for superintendent Dan Costellow, as it is his first, first day of school.
Costellow, who took over the job on the first day of 2024, did just in time for the second half of the school year.
Costellow, a Logan County native and graduate of Logan County Highschool, is looking forward to this school year and the changes that will be implemented this year.
A new security system has been installed that will help them make up to the second decisions when it comes to weather, whether its severe weather or extreme heat or cold. And in the fall, another system will be ready that will allow teachers and other staff to quickly let SROs know that an emergency is happening.
And with the ever growing population of Logan County, more could be in the works to ensure that each child will have a chance to reach their potential in the classroom.
