Logan County School district will provide school supplies for all students

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky.- A local school district is assuring families that they won’t have to worry about school supplies at all this year.

The Logan County School District announced that all required school supplies will be provided for students in the 2021-2022 school year.

This includes items like pencils, folders, and calculators just to name a few. While they aren’t required, students will need to bring backpacks if they wish to use them.

This is possible through Covid relief funding, and the end goal is to ensure that families can comfortably send their kids to school without having to worry about finances.

“We’re doing this as part of some Covid relief for our families. At the end of the year, we get all the budgeting stuff together, and we saw that we had an excess of Covid relief we could still use. We decided we were going to give that back directly to the families in the best way that we could,” said Logan County School District director of communications Madison Rose.

While supplies are provided, families are welcome to purchase classroom wish list items, such as hand sanitizer, and dry erase markers.
