Logan County receives monumental funding from 2024 legislative session
LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – With the work of Sen. Mike Wilson and Rep. Jason Petrie, Logan County will be receiving almost $34 million to help with several projects.
News 40 spoke to Logan County judge-executive Phil Baker about the news, who said he is “grateful to everyone involved.” Baker said he’s happy to see that Logan County is not forgotten in Frankfort and to have local legislators fight for rural Kentucky needs is a good feeling.
The monies will be going to a variety of things for the county, some of which Baker said he’s very excited to see. According to Baker, the break down is:
- $7.8 million for the City of Lewisburg’s wastewater treatment processing center and water lines.
- $5 million for the City of Adairville’s wastewater treatment plant.
- $3 million for the Logan County Fiscal Court for upgrades and equipment for county and city parks.
- $2 million for the Logan County School District for technology center upgrades and equipment.
- $14 million for design to widen US Highway 79 to four lanes from the Todd County line to the intersection with the Russellville Bypass.
- $1.3 million to improve safety on KY Highway 2349 by improving line of sight crossing the railroad between the stockyards and the industrial park.
- $830,000 to improve safety at the intersection of US Highway 431 and KY Highway 663.
Baker said many good things will come from the money received, and he’s most excited to see some great improvements to the Logan County CTC as well as the local parks in the community.
