Logan County deputies to be provided with Leave Behind Naloxone Kits

LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – A partnership with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office is working to save lives.

The sheriff’s office says it has partnered with the local Barren River District Health Department Harm Reduction Team to combat future overdoses in the community.

Thanks to this joint effort, deputies will be supplied with Leave Behind Naloxone Kits.

Deputies say the kits can be left behind at a residence where their agency responded to for overdoses. Each kit provides families with the supplies needed to use on an individual suffering an overdose until medical personnel arrive.

The kits include a CPR face shield, two Naloxone doses, gloves, a fentanyl drug test and information regarding harm reduction and recovery services, according to deputies.

The sheriff’s office says its goal is to do its part to help save lives as well as provide information that is needed about addiction services.

Authorities say this partnership brings that reality one step closer.
