Local viral influencer, country artist teaming up with Dolly Parton

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A local recording artist is teaming up with a country music icon.

Daniel Lawson, a viral influence and country artist, is releasing his latest single “What You Need” on Friday.

“Sometimes, we chase after the wrong things, but real love isn’t about the fleeting thrill —it’s about something deeper and more lasting. This song is a reminder that what we need might not always be what we want, but it’s what’s best for us in the end,” says Lawson.

Lawson is traveling to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, to meet Dolly Parton to film an introduction for the Pigeon Forge Family Challenge. The program will feature The Awesome Lawsons on YouTube. The Awesome Lawsons will compete in a variety of fun activities, showcasing their creativity and teamwork, all in the hopes of taking home the winning title.

The Awesome Lawsons have 9 million followers across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

“What You Need” was written by Daniel Lawson, Devan Sanders, and Jacqueline Cline and produced, engineered, mixed, and mastered by celebrity producer/writer Curt Gibbs.

Lawson plans to release a new single every month of 2025.
