Local veterans organizations team up for meal distribution event in Warren County

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Two local veterans organizations came together Friday to help out those in need.

AMVETS Post 130 and VFW Post 1298 collaborated on a meal distribution event at the VFW post on Richardsville Rd. in Warren County.

300 meals were prepared and distributed to anybody who needed one.

Gerald Mounce, the commander of AMVETS, said he and his buddies were happy to do it.

“It shows that veterans give back to their community,” Mounce said. “We all gave our time in the military, so this is another way of us helping out our country.”

The meals, which consisted of various items like tacos, were donated by Fuel Nutrition in Bowling Green.
