Local tree farm shares how to pick out the perfect Christmas tree

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With Thanksgiving behind us, families across south-central Kentucky are on the hunt for the perfect Christmas tree.

At Morgan’s Fresh Cut Trees, they’re geared up for the holiday rush, stocking nearly 900 trees this year. With so many types and sizes to choose from, customers have plenty to consider when picking their ideal tree for the season.

“Here we’re standing in the the Frazier firs, that’s the the most common type of Christmas tree. If somebody is going to come in here, said, ‘hey, I just I just want a regular Christmas tree,’ that’s what I’m going to point him to. They have shoulder needles. They last longest. They smell nice. We have some cotton colors. They have the longer needles. They smell, really citrusy. And, they have, they have really strong branches,” Thomas Lambert with Morgan’s Fresh Cut Tree’s said.

Lambert also says to use warm water when watering your tree and that when your tree dries out, to remove it as soon as you can to prevent any accidents during the holiday season.

And in the never-ending fight of fake tree against real tree, Lambert says, “You never see a fake tree in a movie.”

Morgan’s Fresh Cut Tree’s opened up last week and will stay open until they sell out. Your can find them located at 2818 Nashville Road.
