Local student-athletes named finalists for 2024 Mr. and Miss Kentucky Basketball

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Finalists for the 2024 Mr. and Miss Kentucky Basketball Awards and Regional Players of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches were announced on Friday. The finalists include south central Kentucky student-athletes.

Mason Ritter (Bowling Green, Boys 4th Region Player of the Year) and Kade Unseld (Warren Central, Boys 4th Region Player of the Year) are among the nominees for Mr. Kentucky Basketball. Both 4th region standouts are finishing their high school careers in 2024. Unseld continues his basketball career at Western Kentucky University and Ritter will join the Columbia University Lions.

Abby Varney (Barren County, Girls 4th Region Player of the Year) and Dea Bradley (Hart County, Girls 5th Region Player of the Year) represent south central Kentucky as Miss Kentucky Basketball finalists. Varney is currently undecided. Bradley will continue her college basketball career at Campbellsville University.

The 2024 Mr. and Miss Kentucky Basketball Awards will take place on March 17 at the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort and Spa in Lexington, KY.
