Local shops preparing for Small Business Saturday

BOWLING GREEN Ky. – While Black Friday may be a big day for shopping, local shops are especially looking forward to Saturday. Small business Saturday to be exact.

Small business Saturday is a day set aside to support local businesses like Morris Jewelry and Barbara Stewart Interiors for example. On this day, local shops hold various deals.

Barbara Stewart Interiors will have a mystery scratch off deal. Shoppers can pick up a card and scratch off the seal to reveal a discount or prize.

Owner and interior designer Susan Hoechner says she can’t wait for a huge local shopper turnout.

“Oh I am thrilled to death. We can’t wait to see them. We’ll be serving drinks and food and goodies, so come on down. We’re ready for you,” Hoechner said.

Hoechner says this is the first year for the mystery scratch off theme.
