Local school to install water bottle-filling stations
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. You’ve heard the question paper or plastic? Now, there’s a modern spin on that question, and a local school system hopes to make the answer a little easier.
Disposable or recyclable is the question nowadays, and disposable water bottles have become a convenience in every community.
For students at Bowling Green Independent Schools, using a refillable water bottle is now becoming much easier after water filling stations are installed. And school officials said it’s a benefit that extends beyond environmental concerns.
Dalla Emerson, the director of food and nutrition at BGPS, said students will drink more water if they have it easily available. She is hopeful it becomes a life-long habit.
The filling stations were donated by Bowling Green Municipal Utilities and will be installed in two phases. The first phase will take place over the next few weeks, and the second phase will be complete later next year.
