Local school districts looking at plans after winter break

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- As 2021 begins, school districts in South Central Kentucky are preparing to start another academic semester.

Schools like the Metcalfe County Schools are planning to return to a hybrid style of classes Monday.

These re-openings will vary between districts. The Bowling Green Independent Schools and Warren County Schools plan to have all students online next week, with the option to return to in-person learning being offered the week after.

Metcalfe County Schools superintendent Josh Hurt said he commends his staff and the parents for their patience during this fluid time.

The Barren County School District will once again begin offering childcare for elementary school students not attending in-person classes starting Jan. 11.
