Local official provides update on the Park City Drive-in

BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – There’s an update to a local attraction that’s making its way to Barren County.

The drive-in amphitheater in Park City is in the design phase. The goal is for a private investor to take over the project, not for it to become a government-run facility.

Once the private investor is determined, the project will move forward. This will create space for people to enjoy entertainment closer to home and bring more people to local businesses in south-central Kentucky

Jamie Byrd, the county judge executive, says, “…It’s an added opportunity for people to have things to do in our community, whether it be our citizens or people coming in from out of town. We’re hoping that people, when they come there, they also not just go there, maybe they go to eat dinner, or they go experience something in our community.”

There have been no taxpayer dollars used for the drive- in amphitheater, according to officials.

News 40 will provide the latest information as it becomes available.
