Local leaders honored at 2023 Black Achievers Banquet

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A committee in the community is celebrating the excellence of many Individuals that make great impacts across Bowling Green and Warren County. Martin Luther King Junior Planning Committee hosted the 2023 Black Achievers Banquet to honor four outstanding trailblazers.

These individuals excel in business education community service and so much more. The committee recognizes the impact these leaders have on every environment they enter, so they took this time to not only prepare for the upcoming MLK Holiday. They also took this time to establish unity amongst leaders in the community.

Felicia Bland, the 2023 Chair of MLK Holiday Planning Committee, shares that the ultimate goal is to unite the community and to remember Dr. King’s dream.

She says, “It feels wonderful for the community just to come together. Not only just this one night to honor the four individuals that we have, but just to be able to celebrate the fact that Bowling Green is a place where we can all live together, play together, work together, and just be able to live out the dream of Dr. King. “

Bland also wanted people to know that this event was not just a celebration, it is also preparation. The Committee will kick off the MLK holiday celebration on Thursday with events leading all the way to the actual holiday.
