Local law enforcement to remember fallen officers

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Local law enforcement officers are taking time to remember their fallen comrades this week as part of a nationwide commemoration of those who protect and serve.

National Police week has officially started.

Thousands of officers from departments across the country have converged on the nation’s capital this week for a full seven days of activities honoring the fallen and the currently serving.

Western Kentucky University police are taking time to remember those that have lost their lives in the line of duty.

This week, they are remembering Eric Chrisman, who participated in the WKU Explorer Program before going on to become a Kentucky State Police trooper.

Chrisman lost his life in 2015.

On Tuesday morning, Kentucky State Police Post 3 will honor six of their fallen troopers with wreath-laying ceremonies.
