Local law enforcement provides tips to avoid package thefts from ‘porch pirates’

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office says with increased deliveries this time of year, porch pirates are looking for the ideal opportunity to take advantage.

However, authorities say there are some steps you can take to keep your gifts and other deliveries safe.

Residents are encouraged to track packages and bring them inside as soon as possible.

In addition, keep an eye out for suspicious vehicles or individuals in neighborhoods.

You can also team up with trusted neighbors to pick up each other’s packages when possible.

Also, be sure to regularly check and install some cameras or motion-activated lights.

If you notice suspicious activity or thefts in the county, be sure to report them to the Warren County Sheriff’s office by contacting 270-842-1633.
