Local group works to grow change
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A local group is growing change within the Bowling Green community.
Top Crops is a local garden, located on Western Kentucky University’s farm. For 12 years now, the non profit offers learning opportunities for those with intellectual and motor disabilities.
Top Crops focuses on skills that can translate into everyday life–from garden to market. Problem solving, communication, as well as leadership are things the organization prides themselves in fostering.
However, Co-Founder Bill Greer, says he wants his gardeners to know their true potential. Greer believes “everybody is capable,” and he wants to help people “be there very best” versions of themselves.
Greer adds that society and people in the community have a “responsibility” to help others “thrive and connect.”
Top Crops is located at the Farmers’ Market in Bowling Green, where Greer said you will most likely be greeted with a hug and smile from his gardeners.
