Local college students revamp a 1978 Kentucky State Police cruiser

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Automotive students at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College in Bowling Green gave new life to an old Kentucky State Police cruiser.

KSP trooper Daniel Priddy said the students only charged the agency for the materials and performed the labor for free on the 1978 Ford LTD.

The students did the detail work on the outside of the car, including the stripe and the logo decals.

Priddy said when they went to pick up the car from the school, they stopped for gas and the car drew a crowd of curious onlookers.

He says the car looks as good as new and is excited to see it in parades around the state.

The car is currently in Frankfort for safe keeping with a few other old cruisers that officials use during festivals and the Kentucky State Fair.
