Local church members take Palm Sunday Service to the people

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Yesterday was Palm Sunday, and in any other year, that would mean people filling churches to mark the beginning of Holy week.

This year, with COVID-19 and social distancing bringing public gatherings to a standstill, one church decided to take their Palm Sunday service to the people.

Members of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ drove through the streets of Bowling Green waving their palm fronds Sunday morning. Reverend Megan Huston, senior minister of First Christian Church, says she believes the recent events have caused this Palm Sunday to be even more important.

Before the parade began, workers at First Christian Church cleaned the fronds with disinfectant spray and wore masks to help avoid spreading COVID-19.
