Local businesses preparing for holiday shopping season 2021

BOWLING GREEN Ky.-If you’ve already started decorating for Christmas, you’re not alone. Some local businesses are gearing up for a huge holiday shopping turnout.

Bowling Green business Barbara Stewart Interiors in fountain square park has already become a winter wonderland with a plethora of Christmas decorations. Owner and interior designer Susan Hoechner is expecting more in-person shopping compared to last year.

In 2020, Hoechner says she saw quite a bit of online shopping, deliveries, curbside service, and phone orders. She’s expecting people to start early since year, as many people are wanting to get out and travel more than last year.

Hoechner says she loves seeing customers in-person, as it adds a bit more flare to the local shopping experience.

“It makes all the difference in the world. When our customers come in and we see the expressions on their faces that they’re so excited to be here, they’re excited to see our new products. It’s great having people back in the store,” Hoechner said.

For even more holiday cheer, Barbara Stewart Interiors will start the Christmas open house event Nov 5-6.
