Local boy genius scores 36 on ACT
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – If you remember the cartoon Jimmy Neutron, Amogh Patnaik is kind of like that.
He’s a pretty smart kid who has achieved a few impressive feats in school but maybe his most mind-boggling one is scoring a 36 on his ACT at 15 years old. Patnaik plans on attending Gatton Academy on the WKU campus in Bowling Green, and for their application process, they require an ACT score.
He told News 40 it was a near perfect test, scoring one 35 and three 36s. Contrary to what one might believe, the teen said he hates school but “just because he hates something doesn’t mean he can’t be good at it.”
Patnaik said he doesn’t have any secrets or tricks to studying, just giving himself time. He said making sure he has everything spaced out gives him time to retain and understand the material he’s looking over before he tackles any kind of academic trial.
