Local boy appears on NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-A story News 40 brought you this past summer has made it to the nightly news! Do you remember Jockeys by JW?

13-year-old JW Hardin has created his own company called Jockeys by JW. He custom paints jockeys in any design or color a customer wants. 

NBC’s Nightly News with Lester Holt: Kids Edition just featured JW in a segment called ‘Inspiring Kids’. 

The three minute piece talked about JW’s love for entrepreneurship and making money…and how his grandpa “Big Daddy” cuts wood pieces into jockeys for JW to use. 

“He started out helping me in the garage working on other things that I make and when he decided to do this he asked if I’d make him a few and I did and then I came to find out that it got bigger and bigger so I’ve enjoyed it. It really makes me feel good that he is able to do something like this on his own so I’m proud of him,” said Roger “Big Daddy” Caswell. 

“It’s always been my dream to be on TV and thanks to this beautiful business my dream came true,” said JW.

JW has autism and hopes to inspire other people with his business, while informing people about autism.
