Local artist creates mural for newly opened car wash

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A local artist now has work featured in Tommy’s Express Car Wash, which is celebrating its opening day Friday.
“Welcome to Bowling Green Tommy’s Express Car Wash!” is created by Misha Ambrosia, according to a release by Thompson & Co. Public Relations.
The mural features multiple recognizable elements of the City of Bowling Green, including Fountain Square.
“These are actual people. My husband, mother-in-law and I are standing there with our golden retrievers. My friend Alice, delivering artwork. Barbara Stewart is standing next to her daughter Susan who now runs the shop,” said Ambrosia. “In the painting, Corvettes are going through the car wash because Corvettes are made here in Bowling Green and nowhere else in the whole world.”
Ambrosia moved with her husband to Bowling Green in 2004 and has pursued art full-time since, according to the release.
The community is also welcome to a free wash weekend Friday, June 28, through Sunday, June 30, by the Tommy’s Express Bowling Green team on Scottsville Road, according to a release by the business.
Grand opening events will take place July 20-21.
