Local Army recruiter hosts free Christmas dinner
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A local Army recruiter is doing his part to make sure no one in this community has to spend Christmas alone.
He’s hosting a community Christmas dinner Wednesday. It’s called Kindness for Christmas, and there will be food, gifts and Santa will also make an appearance.
It’s the first year for the event. SSG Anthony Holt said he was inspired by his late grandparents to do it.
Holt said his grandparents always hosted community events around Christmas time as a way to bring the community together.
“For whatever reason the past few years I just haven’t been in the Christmas spirit. I don’t know why. My grandmother passed away on the 19th of December last year. I don’t know I got a feeling right before Thanksgiving,” said Holt.
Holt also said everyone is invited to the Christmas Dinner. It was at 2 p.m. at Ephram White Park in Bowling Green.
