Local Appreciation: National Park and Recreation Month

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Throughout July, the Bowling Green Municipal Government will acknowledge local park systems for National Park and Recreation Month.

Since 1985, Americans have honored those who build safe and active communities with the National Recreation and Park Association. The work from recreational professionals and upkeep of local parks will receive recognition.

Parks and recreation is important to any city in order to make it an enjoyable or inclusive space. Staff members, part-time employees, volunteers and seasonal workers will be celebrated as well.

“It’s time to show our appreciation for our parks and recreational professionals that work hard everyday, all year long to make our park system a great place for all to enjoy,” stated the Bowling Green Municipal Government on Facebook.

On July 1, the staff members of Russell Sims Aquatic Center were posted in appreciation on the municipal government’s Facebook page.

“Thank you to all those who work at the Russell Sims Aquatic Center all summer long to create a refreshing, fun oasis for all ages to enjoy,” the post stated.
