Local 11 year old girl is semi-finalist on the Food Network
GLASGOW, Ky.- Local 11-year-old Haylin Adams has placed fourth after competing in the National Kids Baking Championship on the Food Network.
She competed against 11 other kids ages 10 to 13 years old for the numerous week-long series.
The semi-finale episode took place on Monday night and the contestants were instructed to make a pie for the contest. Adams made a chocolate pecan pie and an apple pie. Adams said part of the pie broke, and her apples weren’t cooked enough so she was eliminated before the top three.
But making it to fourth place was a huge honor for the small town girl and she said she made so many amazing connections along the once-in-a-lifetime experience.
“I’ve had like so much support and like so many people telling me congratulations and everything. And it’s just awesome to have all of my community and even people like I don’t even know tell me congratulations so it’s pretty cool to see all that support,” said Adams.
