“Light Up Cave City” kicks off the holiday season in Barren County

CAVE CITY, Ky.- The Holiday season in Cave City kicked off Friday night as the community gathered for the annual “Light Up Cave City” event.
Residents gathered for a night of carriage rides, Christmas lights, hot chocolate, chili, and the chance to meet Santa Claus as the holiday season approaches. The Mayor was even in attendance as he lit the Christmas tree, signaling the official kickoff of the holiday season in Cave City.
It was a big night for the community as everyone came out for not only an evening of fun and holiday cheer, but camaraderie and fellowship.
“The word community says it all,” Libby Short, the President of the Cave City Chamber of Commerce, said. “I’m a firm believer that no matter where you live or where you work, you be a good steward of your community. And what better way to just show community than people coming together to kick off the holiday season.”
“Light Up Cave City” will be followed up by the annual Cave City Christmas Parade on December 13th, as the holiday festivities pick up over the next month.
