Life-size Jamarion Sharp Lego sculpture built by WKU professor

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – 7 ‘5 Western Kentucky University basketball player Jamarion Sharp now has a life-size sculpture of him…made entirely out of Legos.

WKU Civil Engineering Professor Jason Wilson used 22,000 Legos to construct a spitting image sculpture of Sharp.

The project took him ten weeks. The sculpture is located on the second floor of Diddle Arena in the Stansbury Concourse and Wilson hopes it will be there the rest of the basketball season.

“There was a guy that was probably 90 years old standing behind me in line when I came up here to get a picture of my wife with it, and he was just so ecstatic. It’s such a timeless thing and I love seeing everybody’s face,” said Wilson.

Professor Wilson also constructed the Lego Big Red that’s in the Kentucky Museum. He has big plans for future Lego builds too, so stay tuned.
