Lexington man arrested after incident at Bowling Green apartment complex

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Lexington man is facing charges after he allegedly tried to push his way into multiple apartments in Bowling Green.

According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department responded to the 1300 block of Center Street around 11:40 p.m. Thursday. Upon arrival, police say the caller stated a male and female had been banging on doors and attempting to push into multiple apartments.

Police say the caller said this was not the first time the man had knocked on their door.

The subject was identified by residents as 59-year-old Keith Barbour, according to police.

The uniform citation states Barbour became uncooperative, refusing to give his information to officers. Police say he stated he was trying to find his room at the complex. However, police say Barbour possessed a key card for the Hyatt Hotel nearby.

Barbour was “under the influence of alcoholic beverages and posed a danger to himself and others,” according to police.

Police say Barbour fought officers when they tried to detain him and continued resisting officers throughout being taken into custody.

Barbour additionally caused injuries to multiple officers and threatened a jail deputy and became aggressive with a jail staff nurse, the uniform citation states.

While at the Medical Center at Bowling Green for medical clearance, police say Barbour began to yell and threw water on an officer.

Barbour was transported back to the Warren County Detention Center.

He faces charges of third-degree terroristic threatening, second-degree criminal trespassing, third-degree assault of a police officer or probation officer, second-degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, menacing and alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second offense.
