Lester Key, Dave Chandler inducted into JA Business Hall of Fame
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On Thursday morning, two Kentucky business owners were inducted into the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame during an Appreciation Breakfast.
Hall of fame laureates are nominated by members of the community based on five key standards of excellence, including their entrepreneurial spirit and achievement and being exceptional role models for the youth.
The first was Lester Key of Key Oil Company, a distributor of fuels and lubricants in the southeast for over 50 years.
Key’s son, Charles, and daughter Cindy accepted the induction award on Key’s behalf and spoke on the inspiring legacy he’s had.
David Chandler, the president of Chandler Real Estate Group, was the second inductee.
Chandler, who’s made a living providing townhomes, duplexes and apartments in Bowling Green, hopes his induction will encourage junior achievers to pursue their dreams.
Chandler also credits Junior Achievement for the growing number of kids pursuing business fields.
Even though they were inducted side by side, Chandler tipped his hat to Lester Key and his role in Kentucky’s success.
Chandler said Key is a longtime friend, mentor, and inspiration.
